Quartzite is an excellent stylish stone to use in your kitchen. A natural reddish stone, extracted from Arizona, Quartzite offers a premium look without adhering to the classic black and white that you see in most modern-day kitchens.
Quartzite can be white or grey in appearance like this Portoro Quartzite, can become a sand-like colour; dark browns, reds and dusty pinks like Fire Quartzite or can even turn green like these Jade Quartzite tables. The streaks running through the stone, known as veins, are entirely natural, so each stone has a unique pattern.
Quartzite is an unprocessed material and consequently can be slightly more susceptible to tarnishing. Therefore, it requires sealing to prevent the surface from discolouration and damage, and this means your surfaces may need a little more care.
Nonetheless, Quartzite is known for its non-porous properties. A naturally hygienic material, less likely to harbour bacteria and therefore easier to keep clean. Plus, Quartzite is exceptionally heat-resistant, so is perfect for use in your kitchen or even an outside BBQ area.
